Who We Are:

What we have accomplished to date:

On November 10 and 11, 2001, two months after the attacks on our country, mobilized a large group of motorcyclists who traveled from White House in Washington to Ground Zero in New York City.  The purpose of this was two fold; one to remember the fallen by placing more then 1000 roses at Ground Zero, secondly to bring needed revenue into New York City.  On this ride the participants spent more than $50,000 to boost New York’s economy during our short stay.

On August 23 - 24, 2002 more then 700 motorcyclists made a journey from Somerset PA (Shanksville) to the Pentagon then to the World Trade Center.  They raised $18,500. from this event was distributed to various escorting Police and Fire Departments, which included a $5,000.00 donation to the NYPD/PAPD Victims Fund.

On August 21, 2003 the foundation placed a granite monument at Shanksville, PA. at the crash site of Flight 93.  The memorial honors the sacrifice made by the 40 brave individuals aboard Flight 93.  August 22 - 23 hundreds of motorcyclists joined in on the third America’s 9/11 Ride.  On August 22nd, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department Precision Drill Team performed in front of the U.S. Capital for participants and visitors.  In New York the foundation donated three 2003 Harley-Davidson Police Motorcycles to the following Police Departments: Port Authority of New Jersey/New York, Arlington County Virginia and Fairfax County Virginia.  The 2003 America’s 9/11 Ride became the largest police escorted ride in America, with over 140 uniformed officers on department motorcycles who joined us from as far away as Central Florida and Ontario Canada.

August 20 - 21, 2004 and saw more then 1200 participants join in on the 4th America’s 9/11 Ride.  This year the Ontario Provincial Police Golden Helmets Precision Drill Team performed in front of the U.S. Capital for participants and visitors.   In New York the foundation raffled off three Harley Davidson Motorcycles to raise funds for the College Scholarship Program.  This year Police motorcycle was donated to Ontario Provincial Police.  The foundation created a t-shirt “Memory Never Forgotten”.  2200 of these t-shirts were taken to all three of the September 11 crash sites and signed by more then 40,000 people along the way.  In New York these shirts were presented to the Calvary from Fort Hood Texas and Marines from Camp Lejeune North Carolina for delivery to the troops in IRAQ.

The 5th annual ride was held on August 19 - 20, 2005.  Over 1000 riders and 120 police escorts returned to all three of the crash sites to pay tribute to those lost.  For the first time the ride took a route through the historic town of Leesburg, Virginia, home of the foundations founders and were greeted by towns folk on both sides of the street waving flags.  This year the University of Pittsburgh Police won the 2006 Harley Davidson Police motorcycle.  The prior year’s raffles earned funds to allow the foundation to present four $3,000 college scholarships to children of First Responders.  The 2006 raffle bike “9/11 Tribute Chopper” was unveiled in New York City and one person purchased all the raffle tickets to take possession of the bike.  A second “9/11 Tribute Chopper” was immediately commissioned to be raffled in New York in 2006.

September 2005 the foundation allocated funds from the general fund to immediately assist First Responders affected by Katrina.  A second trip was made on September 11, the foundation along with Food Lion departed Virginia with 3 -26’ box trucks and 1 – 53’ tractor trailer, packed with food and clothes.  This trip was directed by the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association.

September 10th, 2005 saw the foundation’s first walk-a-thon held in Leesburg, VA, this was also the last day for food and clothing collection for the Katrina Relief.  Turnout was good for the first walk-a-thon, 50% of the funds raised were donated to the local Fire Department.

August 18 – 19 2006 saw the announcement of 9 $2,000 scholarship winners.  The entire town of Somerset PA turned out for a fund raisers benefiting the Flight 93 memorial fund and welcoming the participants of the 6th America’s 9/11 Ride.  The Police motorcycle was donated to the Trumbull PD in CT.  The raffle bike generated funds which will allow 15 -$2,000 scholarships for 2007.

God bless you and America!
